  The Universal BTRC Remote Control System was developed as the IEEE CSIDC 2001 contribution of the University of Karlsruhe, Germany
The BTRC System is a major step towards real ubiquitous computing
in our every-day life.

The BTRC system enables devices to communicate over various transport protocols, allowing them to be controlled remotely
 using either
plain text command messages,
speech recognition input,
or an (XML based) GUI.

  To prove the applicability of the BTRC approach, various types of server applications were developed.
BTRC.ORG is intended to sustain a continuous improvement of the
BTRC approach and to
support an international exchange of intellectual property on the idea of a
universal remote control system.

  Please feel free to contact BTRC.ORG
and to contribute to future enhancements.
BTRC.ORG so far contains a project description of the BTRC system
and a report of the
CSIDC 2001 World Finals.
